Job Description:
As an Audit Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our audit team in performing financial and operational audits for our clients. You will work closely with senior auditors and managers to ensure that audit engagements are conducted efficiently and effectively, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Preparation: Assist in the preparation of audit plans and audit programs, including the identification of key audit risks and objectives.
- Fieldwork: Participate in audit fieldwork, including conducting substantive testing, internal control testing, and gathering audit evidence.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and comprehensive audit documentation, including workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Data Analysis: Analyze financial statements and accounting records to identify discrepancies, irregularities, and potential areas of improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure that audit procedures are performed in compliance with relevant auditing standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Client Communication: Maintain professional and positive communication with clients to request necessary documentation, address inquiries, and provide status updates.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation of audit reports and presentations, summarizing findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with senior auditors, managers, and other team members to complete audit engagements on time and within budget.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry best practices to enhance your professional development.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and audit findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of auditing standards and principles is a plus.
- CPA or progress towards certification is preferred but not mandatory.
