Job Description:
As an Income Tax and GST Return Preparer at [Your Company Name], you will be responsible for accurately preparing and filing income tax and GST returns for our clients. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while helping clients maximize tax benefits and minimize liabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Income Tax Preparation: Accurately prepare and complete income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, considering all applicable deductions, credits, and exemptions.
- GST Return Preparation: Prepare and file Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns for eligible clients, ensuring compliance with GST laws and regulations.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information, answer tax-related queries, and provide tax planning advice.
- Data Analysis: Review financial statements, income records, and receipts to identify opportunities for tax savings and ensure accurate reporting.
- Tax Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations at both the federal and state/province levels and ensure all returns are filed in accordance with these changes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and well-documented tax records for each client, ensuring all relevant information is readily accessible.
- Client Education: Provide basic tax education to clients, explaining tax implications and advising on financial decisions that impact their tax liabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an income tax and GST return preparer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of income tax and GST laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
